“Every truck I know is still driven by a person (except in some limited-use test pilots), and no radiologists have yet been replaced.”
Our reading, the sentence that was checked:
As of October 2022, every truck the author knows of is still driven by a person (except in some limited-use test pilots), and no radiologists have yet been replaced.

- Every truck I know

- no radiologists have yet been replaced
Our interpretation
- The truck assertion retains both the author's knowledge qualification and the exception for limited pilots.
- A commercial delivery can also be a limited pilot. Revenue generation alone does not remove it from the exception.
- Radiologists replaced means human radiologist positions eliminated because AI assumed their work. Approval of software or automation of individual readings is insufficient.
- The cumulative target interval follows the surrounding comparison with 2011 and ends on the post date.
Counts as supported if: Records establish that relevant driverless trucking remained within the stated pilot exception and that AI had not eliminated radiologist positions by the post.
Counts as contradicted if: A documented driverless truck operation outside the pilot exception was known to Marcus by the post, or a documented human radiologist position had been eliminated because AI replaced that work.
Retrospective: these criteria were written after the outcome was public.
Current assessment
Was it true for the period described?
Outcome: Unresolved
The record was checked, and the evidence available by the cutoff does not settle it.
Scored on a plain reading. The speaker named no measure for this claim, so it was judged on the reading an informed reader would take, stated below under our interpretation. Both reviews had to find that reading fair.

Rationale
Driverless commercial trucking existed before the post. That is material counterevidence, but the statement explicitly allows limited pilots and is restricted to trucks Marcus knew about. Walmart itself used pilot language. The radiology announcement documents approval and planned autonomy, not a radiologist losing a job. The available records therefore establish neither the qualified truck assertion nor the universal radiologist assertion.
Limitations
- Removing the personal-knowledge qualification would change the claim.
- A commercial deployment can still have limited scope.
- No documented replacement is not proof of zero replacements.
Evidence (3 items)
Context only: Walmart,
pilot
Why it matters here: Walmart described the planned driverless service as a continuing pilot. This makes it unsafe to treat every commercial driverless delivery as outside Marcus's explicit exception.

- Company disclosure: the company describing itself, not an independent finding
- Describes events of
- Public from
Context only: Loblaw Companies Limited,
fully driverless
Why it matters here: The announcement describes driverless commercial deliveries on fixed routes to five nearby stores. It challenges an unqualified assertion that all trucks had human drivers, but does not establish Marcus's knowledge or unambiguously escape his limited-pilot exception.

Context only: Oxipit,
early 2023
Why it matters here: The 2022 announcement concerns certification and a future deployment plan. It does not document a radiologist job being eliminated, and cannot establish that no other employer had eliminated one.

What would settle it
Evidence that Marcus knew of a qualifying non-pilot driverless deployment, or an employer record showing a radiologist position eliminated by AI before October 16, 2022. Supporting the complete claim would require much broader deployment and employment coverage.
